Defining Your Rest, Recovery, and Rejuvenation

We are in different stages and situations at various points in life. In each of this stage, we have an opportunity to define our rest, recovery and rejuvenation but also we have the capability to redefine what the triple R (rest, recovery, and rejuvenation) may look like. Our limits on how we define ourselves can be self imposed due to extenuating circumstances. While I am experiencing an extenuating circumstance, I am redefining how my rest, recovery and rejuvenation looks like daily if not intradaily at times post-partum. My rest is connected to sleeping whenever I choose to but balancing the rigor needs of motherhood. It is choosing to operate in my truth and focusing on my health during the recovery stage. As of today, my recovery stage is enjoying the preparation of healthy foods, planning my herbal garden, taking walks, journaling and relishing in the moments of motherhood. It includes my ability to affirmly say yes or no. Taking the time to participate in support circles and connecting with other mothers. Connecting with friends including reconnections after extended periods of time. I am also focused on my health and utilizing the care or diagnostic tools available to monitor age specific health recommendations. My rejuvenation is daily steam bathing, applying facial masks, gradually decluttering, redesigning living spaces, and dreaming of lavender scents as I plan to start a lavendar and loofah garden in 2026. In essence, this is my self care. What is yours?

New Year, New Month, New Day, New Hour, New Second = New Start

@upliftedtoday is on threads and Instagram. Today's post was New Year, New Month, New Day, New Hour, New Second = New Start. The truth is any moment you make a committment, change, or new habit it can begin at any second. Often we use January 1st to begin a New Year Resolution. It is the way we are programmed on the Gregorian Calendar. Most of us postponed our goals to a start date. We may wait until the beginning of the month, the next day, or the next hour to start something. I encourage you to take a moment and write down everything you would like to do or accomplish. Then, write down the initial step you can start today related to what you would like to do or accomplish. Review the list daily and continue to add the subsequent second and next steps daily or weekly. Find you a trusted accountability partner to share the list daily and your updates minimumally on a bi-weekly basis. Follow my blog with Bloglovin
